We Are the Christ!

Have you ever wondered what the word "Christ" meant? Yesterday, I shared at Destiny the importance of knowing that "We are the Christ." Christ by definition is simply, the anointed one or holy one. The word of Truth shares with us, "we have been anointed by the Holy One..." That is the same anointing that Jesus has, He has given to us. Martin Luther the great church leader and reformer shared, "we should all be as little Christ."

Think about it my friend, if we are anointed by the Holy One, with what did he anoint us with? It is clear that the anointing is the Holy Spirit, which is the whole spirit of God. It is no wonder that Jesus would insist that we "shall do that which he had been doing and even greater things..." We can achieve this because we have his anointing and that we have been made 'The Christ."

I know that in a traditional context this is hard to grasp. We have been so oppressed by religonist and demnominatioalism that shares of the depravity of humanity, even when we are "saved". But Paul reminds us that Jesus was, "the first born among many brothers..." we are to fulfill the work of the Lord as "Ambassadors of Christ."
