This morning on the Power Faith and Living Conference Call we had an awesome time as I shared the perspective of prayer as "alignment with the Father." Prayer is the individual's alignment mind, body and spirit with the Father. So often we think of prayer as a way of communicating with God. I discover when I operated from that perspective that I was doing most of the talking. I also found it difficult to do as Paul shared, "Pray without ceasing."
But, when I discovered the perspective of "alignment with the Father," I began to realize that I must always be conscious of the Holy Spirit that is within me and remain focused and in communion with Him.
Our prayer life should not consistent of a litany of request. Interestingly enough we are told to "ask and we shall receive..." But the asking that the Bible shares is not a lamenting and begging as we so often see. I believe Jesus gave us the example of this kind of asking when he fed the 5000 plus people that we following Him. The Bible shared, "He lifted up his eyes to Heaven and gave thanks..." He did not beg or plead with God to multiply. But in His consciousness and faith by virtue of offering thanks, he knew God would move on His behalf. He shared this even in healing. Let us walk in this kind of prayer!
I have been challenged the past few days, I have had to remain focused unlike ever before in prayer--alignment with the Father. When we are aligned it maintains our focus so that we will not look to the left or to the right. "Be steadfast always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing your labor is not in vain."
