People and Relationships

One truth that revolutionize my relationships is that "People do the best they can with the resources they have." I use to spend a lot of time lamenting and judging people based on my perspective of why they do what they do. Matter of fact, I believe that is why Jesus shared, "do not judge". We can not judge because we do not know the resources that individuals have available emotionally or spiritually.

F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby opens the book with advice that young Tom was given by his father, "When you judge make sure that the person has the same advantages you have."

When you think about it, that is why love is so important in terms of relationships. Because love unifies and brings individuals together in a spirit of oness and empathy. Love helps us understand that people really are trying the best the can in their lives.

Bishop Lee,

Thanks for another powerful message this morning(2/3/08)on "Manifesting God in our relationships." It was enlightening and I know it will help in my relationship with my partner Edward.

Thanks again for a wonderful message.
