Repentance From The Old Thoughts

The Greek word for repent is Metanoia. It literally means to think again or to turn from your former thinking. The Bible is clear that, "As a man thinketh within his heart so is he." Our thinking determines our lives.

Interestingly enough, we focus on repentance from the perspective of behaviors. Tunring away from moral behavior to what we consider as "Godly or Righteous behavior", but what about our old thoughts and our old belief systems. We have accepted the New Birth and have changed behaviors but we have spiritualized our carnality. Meaning that we still have the old mind and thought patterns that continue to produce the same kind of life. Paul stated that our minds must be renewed. Meaning that we must have a metanoia, "A change of thinking" about God and about ourselves and the world that we live in.

For us to live fully in the Kingdom and our convenant of blessing, it takes a radical and outrageous shift of thought. To know that I am supposed to be blessed and walk in the abundance of God and to hold that thought in the face of past conditioning. The reason why we do not see the great power of God in our lives is because of our past conditioning and domestication. We have been so inudated by slave religion and religon of oppression we accept that life is the way it is supposed to be.

To walk in the power of God we have to repent from the negative thinking and limiting disempowered religion that we have embraced.
