It is amazing how often I see individuals settling for less than the best in their lives. We are content to get poor service. We are content to not have the best in our lives. We simply go through life setting for less than God's best in our lives.
Settling speaks to what is our standard. Whatever our standards are, is the way life will be. Jesus stated that..."I have come that you might have life and have life more abundantly." Jesus established a standard of a life that is enriched, fulfilled, meaningful and purposeful. It is to live a life that is "outrageously blessed" or as one person shared, "A God Kind of Life"! Think about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on Calvary. Do you really think it was just about eternal life? That is like saying, "Okay, suffer through life and struggle, because this life doesn't matter and I will make it up to you in the next life." This is a misguided theology.
God wants for us to live a life that is psyched, jazzed and juiced! God's desire that is that we live a life that is enriched and fulfilled NOW! The only reason why we do not have a phenomenal life is because our standards do not speak to PHENOMENAL! If I have a phenomenal standard I will have a phenomenal life! What is you standard and philosophy of life?
Settling for less than the best is not God's desire for your life. Life is about growing, expanding and being enriched.
The other day I drove by a cemetary where my mother and sister is buried. I thought of how many people I know whose lives centered around a few square miles and never lived or experienced life beyond the few square miles they were born. There are people who moved away from their childhood homes physically, but what about in terms of your mentality and your ability to embrace life and live life to the fullest. Most of us never grow beyond our high school or college days emotionally and intellectually. Matter of fact, I hear more people share with me physically as well from the stand point they have not been in the shape they were in since college basketball playing days. Are you moving beyond your few square miles in your mind?
Let's raise our personal standards to phenonmenal and not settling for less.
