In my devotional reading this morning I read the Gospel of John Chapter one. The most striking thing that touched my spirit was how Jesus chose his disciples. The most important decision that we make is those who we invite into our lives to share our vision and aspirations. The right people will be assets, but the "wrong" people will be liabilities.
Think about this, we have no choice who we are related to, but we have the choice to chose those to share our lives. Therefore, we have to chose wisely in our lives those who will be our associates and friends.
Jesus chose wisely. The metaphysical understanding of the disciples displays it more dramatically. Peter represents Faith. Andrew represents Strength. Philip represents Power. His choice of leaders in the beginning was a representation of Faith, Strength and Power. What does this principle share with us? Who do we have around us as our key leaders and friends?
Jesus chose wisely to under gird his ministry that would give him the foundation to take the Gospel into the whole world. Who we have around is speaks loudly to who we are. Jesus' key leaders represented his traits.
We have to be prudent and wise about who we invite into the our lives and world.
I have been in prayer over the leadership decisions that I will be making at Destiny -Northwest Chicago and Destiny-LA. I will be having to make decisions to place men and women in leadership over God's people. As a minister of the Gospel and a pastor for more than 20 years I understand the awesome responsibility of placing men and women in leadership positions. In the past I made decisions based on need rather than based on character and spiritual traits. If Destiny Worldwide is to make a greater impact, it is important to have men and women who epitomize the spiritual traits of Faith, Strength and Power.
Keep those who are being considered for leadership in your prayers. That they would mature and be firm in their commitment to the Father. Moreover, see me in your prayers aligned with the Father and making wise decisions for the benefit of the Father and the churches.
