The Power of Faith

This lesson is from one of my teachings on the "Twelve Powers Within Us." These lessons are based on the teachings by Charles Fillmore whose understanding was that humanity has been graced with everything they need to create an enriched life. His teachings centered on the Twelve Faculties within men as he researched the Bible and he realized that we have these innate faculties or powers.

It is amazing how often time we ask God to do something for us or move in our lives and not realize that He has already blessed us with the tools and resources that we need. The whole basis of my ministry and at the center of my teachings is the notion of self responsibility. We are responsible for what shows up in our lives. It is not just in terms of the abritrary will of God or the meanacing enemy that lurks outside of our lives. God has given us everything that we need to create a phenomenal life. We have been given the tools to build a great mansion in our lives or to build a small shack. Intersestingly enough the same tools build the same dwelling but it is all based on what we choose to build.

The Bible states that we all have been granted, "a measure of faith". Let us be clear, that is everyone! People do not have more faith than others, we all have been given the power of faith. Now, the question is, do we cultivate it or not? Many faith teachers Hagen, Copeland, Fred Price all teach this idea. Faith is the ability to trust God at His Word. Moreover, faith is a spiritual priniciple which all the other spiritual principles rest. If I do not build my life on the principle of faith, all of the other principles are at best useless, because I have to rest in the Absolute Truth of God. We all have the ability to nuture this seed that has been placed within us.

Imagine this my friend, you have the faith to move mountains, to create whatever you desire and to do the impossible, you have that wonderful seed of faith within you. Most people feel that they are powerless in our world and the forsake the very power that is within themselves. The prohpet recorded the word of the Lord, "My people perish for lack of knowledge." And it is sad that many are perishing because they have no idea about the innate power of God and faith that is within them.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen..." I like the NIV that emphasizes faith is being CERTAIN AND SURE. Can you imagine you have a power within yourself that whatever you do, you can be certain and sure based upon the Father that you will be successful? Can you imagine, you have the abiity to achieve and succeed beyond the norm because of the ability of faith that is within you. "If you can believe all things are possible."

But like any other spiritual prinicple it has to be demonstrated. You have to cultivate the seed within you and walk in your power of faith. The more that you walk in the power of your faith the greater your confidence grows.
