Day Three-Dealing in God's Truth in Relationships

"For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6). (NASB)

"..."God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding" (Proverbs 2:6). (The Message)

The writer of Proverbs shares that God is the source of all wisdom and understanding. Perhaps this could assist us in many of our breakdowns in interpersonal relationships. We so often look to understand from our perspective, or find our truth in a situation. There is a tendency of making others wrong and only viewing things through our own narrow perspectives. In a real sense it is dificult for us to demonstrate any level of objectivity, because we can only view the situation through our own subjective eyes.

I have shared previously in lessons that in life things really have "no meaning". Meaning that everything that we observe in life, all that we engage are things that we "give" meaning to. As human beings we have been given the ability to "discern". To discern is to give meaning and to undertand. This discerning is through our own narrow perspective. Do you see how this can be a problem in breakdowns in interpersonal relationships? At best, we are always making the other person wrong, because of our perspective. In reality, we cannot see anything but our own perceptions.

God does not deal in perception, but He deals in Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding. God is Omnsicient (All-Knowing). When we diminish the ego. Ego is that part of ourselves that always want to be right and be protected. When we allow the Holy Spirit of God to reign in our lives we will not be driven by perception, but by Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding. The Holy Spirit is a mediator between our perception and God's Wisdom. Jesus shared that, "the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth..." When there is a breakdown, we cannot rely upon our own "understanding". This is not like in baseball where the umpire calls it like he sees it. We have to be spiritually mature enough to take our selves out of the equation, and allow the Holy Spirit to give us the understanding of the situation.

Someone said in the context of the breakdown of any relationship, there are always three sides, there is one person's perspective and the other person's perspective and there is the truth. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to Truth.

Spiritual Prayer Treatment

Father, I let go and I let you.
I embrace your wisdom.
I embrace your Holy Spirit.
I decrease and allow you to increase in my life.
Father, I listen for your voice.
I lean not upon my understanding, but I rest in
your wisdom.
I see through your eyes and I deal only in the Truth.
In the Name of Jesus the Christ, and through His Power!
Amen! And So It IS!
