"In all of our getting...get knowledge." Knowledge is an important faculty in our spiritual arsenal. The bible speaks to the importance of us "getting knowledge". Knowledge is a knowing what is...it is not adding or subtracting from what is...it is what it is. Most often we rely on perception, perception is what we think a thing is. God wants us to rely not upon our limited and short-sighted perceptions, but upon knowledge.
Knowledge is a necessary attribute of God, because He is omniscient (ALL KNOWING). God desires that through our seeking of Him, that we will be able to gain knowledge. Jesus said it this way, "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things shall be added". The starting point of knowledge is God. One writer stated, "the Holy Spirit is the mediator between our perception and knowledge." It is the role of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth--to an understanding of what a circumstance or a situation is... God deals only with something as it is--the truth of a situation or circumstance.
As the Holy Spirit is within us, we have to rely upon Him leading and guiding us into the truth a situation. We have to know that God through the Holy Spirit has given us all that we need to discern and know a situation, but you have to trust the Spirit of God within you. Imagine operating in the knowledge of God!
Let's walk no longer in the darkness of ignorance, but in the fullness and the light of God and His knowledge.

Father, may I decrease and you increase within me.
I surrender my ego to your Spirit.
Lead me through your Holy Spirit to gain understanding and knowledge.
Let me see life through your eyes.
