Musings

Today is Friday and the second day of the month of May! Can you believe it? Today's Inspirational Call I shared of the importance of "committing our ways unto the Lord." We must place God first in our lives! If we want the success that we desire and deserve we have to do it the way Jesus shared, "to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added.." This is living out of our Christ Consciousness or center.

I am so happy to report all of the individuals who have called me in the past few days and have shared their praise reports and victories. These calls and my basic ministry is coaching and encouraging individuals to be the best they can be, well there are several whose lives have been totally transformed in the past few days. I am gratified and humbled that I have played a role in the assistance of God's people. Keep on growing!

Well, there are two important things that I want to share. Did anyone see the Daily Herald yesterday with my comments about the Obama and Wright Controversy? It amazes me still to this day that so many people have given so much energy to this...However, be clear, this is what I have been talking about for the past five years about Remnants of Slave Religion and Oppression that continues to be the filter and the lens that many people view God and the scriptures. Rev Wright is a credible man, he is just stuck in a time warp and fighting the ghost of the past. He is one that sees himself as oppressed and God identifies with his sufferings. I still hold African American Liberation Theology is a plausible perspective, it is just a limited perspective. We have to raise our consciousness beyond the politics of race and see ourselves as spiritual beings, having a spiritual experience, We limit God when we place him in the context of race and culture and we definitely limit ourselves when we label ourselves as a race or identified with a certain culture. As I share at Destiny, "I am a man who happens to be African American. But the truth is I AM A SPIRITUAL BEING!"

Speaking of race, my five year old son and I had an interesting experience in a park in Algonquin, IL. As we were walking we ran across a trash can with a swastika. I called the village of Algonquin, Fox News, the Daily Herald and no one seems to care that a symbol hate was displayed in their palatial suburb. I am not ignorant to think that people who are unenlightened view others in terms of race and that the many turn their eyes to the idea of inequities in our society. But I will never allow some ignorant perspective to stop me or limit me in my quest! If you get a chance call the Village of Algonquin and let them know you are disturbed by this and have them follow up with the community for those who live in Algonquin, IL. Politicians don't ever seem to care unless someone gets killed and it makes the news.

As I close, remember you are a spiritual being having a spiritual experience. There are no limitations on your life other than the limitations you set for yourself! "Greater is he that is within you, than he that is within the world." "If God be for you, he is more than the world against you..."
