Have you ever thought about it,imagination precedes faith. The scriptures share, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen." For us to believe for or desire it, we first of all have to imagine it. We have to get a clear picture of what it is that you desire. This is IMAGINATION. The ability to see what you desire even before it is presented.
It is a sad reality that we live in a day and age where imagination is no longer encouraged. Due to living in the digital age, kids no longer dream and fantasize about life in the stories that we once read because it is easier to get someone else's vision in a video that is on demand. Adults are told to grow up and get rid of our dreams and desires. It is an insult to be a dreamer in many circles. All of this speaks to the death of imagination. Recently, a client was sharing with me about their inability to dream. It seems as a child they were not encouraged when they shared their dreams, therefore, they stopped dreaming. When I asked what dreams did she have when she was a child. She said that she could not remember. She has been successful in her life, but she has not maximized her full potentiality because she does not have the ability to imagine her life beyond where it is today.
This speaks to so many of us, some that are successful not because of a dream, but because of natural talents and abilities that you have fallen into a good opportunity. It has never been as a result of seeing a future or desiring more than where you are. Life has a natural current, and it is easy to get swept up and find yourself at some destination. These people subscribed to the philosophy of making a living. My friend, I am not talking about making a living, but creating a phenomenal life that you desire and deserve.
Life that is a result of imagination is a life that goes beyond the comfortable, the mediocre, the mundane. It is a creating a life that is powerful, fulfilled and enriched. Can you imagine a better life? Can you imagine being in a different place and space than you are today? Can you imagine living a life that is psyched, jazzed and juiced?
God shared with Abram, "As far as you can see...I am giving you the land." Metaphorically, this speaks to Abraham's imagination. We only receive in life what we can imagine and believe for in our faith. If you cannot see much in your life, that is what you will always have. But if you can IMAGINE more, being, doing and having more in your life, you will receive the fullness of what you can see in your life!
After we get the picture clearly in our minds, then faith kicks in and we work to bring those things that we have seen into fruition!
