Day 19-Who Are Your Advisers?

"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure" (Proverbs 11:14). (NAS)

Growing up I would like the old reruns of "The Adventures of the Lone Ranger". For the most part, he was always with by himself with the exception of his faithful native American side kick Tonto. I never thought about it but I guess Tonto was not considered his equal because he was "The Lone Ranger". In our spiritual guidance we cannot afford to be a "Lone Ranger".

It is important to understand that Christianity is not "just" a personal relationship. We are called to relationship with others, the two most important commandments Jesus shared, "love the Lord our God with all that is within us and love our neighbors as our selves." We cannot escape the fact that we are called to relationships.

The writer of the Proverbs shares that counsel from many advisers "ensures victory." When we are operating by ourselves we are limiting our selves because we are only viewing with life from one perspective. We have to be careful because our assessment of a situation may not be the most accurate and at times can be a clear misinterpretation of what is really happening. For the most part, we live in our heads. We have created and have given meaning to so many things that we are too subjective to really know what most things mean. That is why it is important to gain counsel from others.

Please be clear, it is important that you gain counsel from sources that are spiritually grounded that demonstrate the fruit of wisdom in their own life and are centered in the Word of God. Over the years I have seen people in worst shape after "ungodly" counsel than the situation they were in before. Ensure that people you seek guidance and counsel are truly operating and demonstrating a Christ-centered perspective.

A few years I became acquainted with the Power of Agreement (Gospel of Matthew 18:19) and the principle of the Master Mind Alliance. Simply put, "Again, if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven." I got really excited about the idea of agreement and knowing the power that can be produce in relationships. Seek out individuals who are in agreement about God's best and highest for you in your life. They may not agree over your business plan, because it may need to be tweaked, but remember only seek counsel from those that want God's best for your life and they are in agreement with you in that very important aspect.

Spiritual Focus: Relationships

Spiritual Prayer Treatment

Father, I embrace my relationships with others.
I chose to embrace individuals who have your best for
me in my life. I surround myself with people who
love, support, and believe in me.
I only have healthy relationships of mutual love, honor, respect,
and caring, that is demonstrated not just in words but also deeds.
I rely on the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me in all of my
relationships and I trust the Holy Spirit in my friendships.
In the Name of Jesus and Through His Power!
Amen! And So It Is!

Special Note: Please pray from my daughter Sydney whose Grandfather (mom's side) made his transition yesterday. This is her first dealing with death and it is pretty confusing for her at this time. Also Remember her Mom (Shelley) and Grandmother (Sylvia). Thank you!
