"Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children" (Proverbs 17:6).
The greatest joy and the most significant accomplishment I will ever achieve is being a father. Parenthood is a spiritual assignment and privilege that is given to nurture and develop our children in the ways of the Lord.
I am blessed to have a wonderful father who took his assignment seriously and gave me so much. My father is not a perfect man, but he is a man that continues to do the best he can with the resources that he has. It has been difficult for me the past few years to see my father who was once so strong and viral, diminish and weaken as a result of Alzheimer's. I guess the lesson is that one should appreciate their father and cherish each moment that you have while you can.

Father, thank you for the priviledge of being a
father and the blessings of all fathers.
I pray for all those who struggle emotionally with
their parents illnesses. Give them the ability and
strength to handle it.
