Day 33-Reflection on 40 Day Fast

The past thirty-three days have been an awesome journey of spiritual growth and development. I have become clear on so many aspects of life.Fasting increases our focus and centers on the things of God so that clarity can come.

Perhaps the major point of clarity has come as a result of ministry and getting back to the foundations of faith. I have as with a lot of ministers had gotten so caught up with the other dynamics of church that the focus was not primarily on the "mission of the church" to "make disciples of all nations..."Thoreau shared, "the masses of men lead lives of quiet desparation." In my observation I see this not only in terms of those outside of the church, but also within the church. People are hurting and many have crushed spirits and are accepting lives that are benath the priv iledge of God.

It would appear that we have embraced the religion about Jesus, but not the religion of Jesus and more specifically we have not embraced a relationship with Him. Salvation is the basis of a fulfilled life. Perhaps, the post-modern church is teaching and preaching about everything under the sun and have forgotten the fundamental principle of Salvation.

Moreover, I have been renewed in my spirit. I pray that this time has been a blessing for you.
