"It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way" (Proverbs 19:2).
The foundation of your life and faith is important. We have to know what we believe in and why we believe what we believe. Often, people can get excited about the things of God and run with great zeal, only to mislead others because they did not have a sound foundation.
Paul emphasized embracing "sound doctrine"; he also shared, "study to show thyself approved unto God..." We have to ensure that our doctrine is sound and that we are not led astray and miss the mark.
