Recession of Thought

"The sluggard says, 'There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!'" (Proverbs 26:13).

The media has inundated us with reports of the economy, daily we are told of the high price of gas, the mortgage crisis, inflation, the possibility of losing a job and all of the the other financial woes. We are developing the mentality of the sluggard as a result of embracing their PROGRAMMING. Think about it, everywhere you go people are saying this is not a good time. Many people are modifying their lives, cutting back and some have even stopped pursuing their dreams, because of "the lion in the road".

I understand the argument to walk in wisdom and use sound strategies, I am not arguing that point. What I am arguing against is the mentality to stop living! To think that the outside economic forces are greater than you and your God. Need I remind you, "Greater is he that is within you, than he that is within the world..." (I John 4:4). This economy is just fine! People are continuing to live, work, and go after their dreams. Many who understand the dynamics of the economy are even investing and making money. It is all about your perspective.

The only thing that is limiting us is a "recession of thought". The bible is so clear, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he..." (Proverbs 23:7) (KJV). God's Economy calls us to THINK differently from the world and to be creative in our approaches. God's Economy is based on the unlimited resources and limitless supply of God; but we have to tap in through our THOUGHT LIFE based on FAITH!
