Driven By Higher Purpose

"But I prayed, Now strengthen my hands" (Nehemiah 6:9b).

Nehemiah was continuing to be pressured to stop the work that was almost completed. The strategies of his enemies were to wear him down. There are times that attacks come one right after another; they are designed to wear you down.

Nehemiah was not swayed by his enemies attacks, because he understood his higher purpose. He knew he had a mandate from God and that God was his "Source and Supply". When you are persuaded by higher purpose, attacks will come; but you have to be centered on your relationship with God and know that He will "never suffer the righteous to be forsaken."

Nehemiah's prayer was "Now strengthen my hands." He realized that the attacks were designed to wear him and the people of Israel down; but he realized that God was their strength. "Strengthen my hands" was a prayer for God to stir up the strength that was within in and to give them focus to continue the project.

You may be challenged at this time, but know that God is with you and that you have the strength within you to overcome the challenge.
