""Then I said to them, You see the trouble that we are in; Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace" (Nehemiah 2:17).
Our lives can be transformed, but if we do not recruit others our world will remain the same. Nehemiah's vision could only be as grand as his ability to recruit others in them seeing the possibilities for their lives.
Nehemiah's rebuilding the wall was not a selfish motivation. Nehemiah had a heart for the people and their situation. Leadership begins with a burning desire to help others--it is never about self interest. It is evident that the Children of Israel trusted Nehemiah and his intentions and his desire to not only rebuild the walls, but to rebuild their lives and offer them the possibilities of a better life.
When we share our faith and offer Salvation to others, it is a sharing of possibilities for their lives. It is us sharing the same leadership that Nehemiah demonstrated in offering an opportunity to Rebuild, Restore and Renew their lives.
When we don't share individuals live in a false hope that their lives can get better. We must share the possibilities of the Christ with others and give them the resources necessary to "Create the Powerful Life They Were Made to Live!"
It is in our sharing with others that we transform our worlds.
