Nehemiah's Prayer of Remember Lord My Faithfulness!

"Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services"(Nehemiah 13:14).

I love Nehemiah's prayer as he asks the Lord to remember his faithfulness. Faithfulness is an interesting concept. It is a fruit of the Spirit, but it is something that we rarely see as it relates to the lives of the believer. It appears that whenever we are challenged or something that does not go our way we readily give up and tuck and run.

Faithfulness is Greek is defined as being reliable, one who can be trusted. The paradigm of faithfulness is God. If we deal with the definition, it suggest that God is seeking to trust us. Can God trust you? Are you reliable particularly with the things of God in your life? To be faithful God must be able to count on us!

Nehemiah shares unapologetically Lord remember my faithfulness of what I have done for your house and it's services. Perhaps Nehemiah could be unapologetic about it because he did not do it for himself. Maybe the reason why he could withstand the challenges and go through the trials because it was not about him, it was always about God.

Perhaps the reason why we give up and stop because we allow our egos to play a major role. Perhaps the work that we say that is of God is really about our own self worth and agendas--because if it is about God then I can be reliable and trusted to see the mission through.

Faithfulness is not gradual or measured on levels, we are faithful or we are not! Think about your service to the Lord.
