"But you are a shield around me, O Lord..." (Psalms 3:3b)
we have to know that we are protected always by the loving hand of the Lord. He is our shield and protector. In difficult times we feel so vulnerable and open to attacks. We do not have to fear or worry about outside forces because God is our protection.
When I think of a shield it is a defensive instrument to protect, but it is not used just for defensive purposes, it is used always from the context of a soldier moving forward on the offensive. We cannot allow the enemy to ever stop or block us, we must always move forward using our shield to protect us, but knowing that our destiny is right before us!
