Resting in God!

"I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me..."(Psalm3:4a)

How are you resting these days? There is so much unrest reported in the world with the financial markets collapsing, all of the natural disasters and just the stress of living. Many people are finding themselves not resting easy.

Where is our faith for these challenging times? The circumstances of life should never rob us of our rest. Rest is vital for it gives the body an opportunity to replenish and refresh. When we allow the cares of the world to rob us of our rest, we are shortening the span of our lives.

David was dealing with betrayal and attacks from within his family and the close advisers in his kingdom, however, he kept his faith and trusted that God would take care of his needs. When we fail to look to God, we allow stress and anxiety to govern our lives which robs of not only our sleep, but forfeits the blessings of God.

David, rested even in times of conflict because of His God. I want to encourage you to give your cares to God and rest in Him.
