Solution for Discouragement and Depression

"...you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.."(Psalm 3:3b).

There are times in our lives that we face discouragement and even depression. Things just may not be working out as the think or some tragedy strikes. But we do not have to worry or fret because of things happening. We have to know that God is our Source and Supply and that He is right with us.

One of the most comforting thoughts I focus on when dealing with disappointment and discouragement is that God is with me. In the presence of God their is peace and their is power. I am empowered when I think on the presence of the Father and lose myself in His presence. ( Isn't this worship?)

David in the Psalm was greatly challenged by his son and his enemies to dethrone him as King. Needless to say it was a time of great disappointment and discouragement. But David focuses on the Father and ask to , "bestow your glory on me and lift up my head..." God's glory is his presence that He has given us through His Holy Spirit. In the presence of God their is power and light, darkness of every situation has to flee. David's focus was on the glory of the Father in our lives. If we are going to beat the doldrums of life's experience we have to focus on the glory of the Lord.

Moreover, David's focus becomes a desire to not remain where he was. "lift up my head..." this is a reference that I do not want to stay in this consciousness or mind-set any longer, but I want to raise my faith, raise my consciousness and look beyond my circumstances. We have to lift up our heads beyond what we are dealing with now and know that God is....
