Twelve years ago my life was in transition, I took a leave of absence from my church in Virginia to take care of my sister who was dying of cancer and deal with other family issues that had arisen in my life. One day, I was complaining to a friend of mine, "Mattie,I cannot believe how my life is..." I shared. Mattie looked unphased by my lamenting. "I use to be a major player in Richmond, Virginia, I was on the radio and the news covered events that I would do..." I continued. After about ten minutes,, Mattie simply said, "Do something about it!" Her advice resonated as she expanded on her answer, "Keith, you have more education, talent and ability then I will ever have, you have the ability to do something about your life-do it!" Destiny Church was born after that conversation as I went forth with the courage to do the will of God.
Over the years when I am in that mindset of complaining and lamenting I think of my friend Mattie's advice, "to do something about it." I want to encourage you today that you have everything that you need within you to do something about it. If you want to change your life it begins with the decision for you to do it!
