Transition

Life is perpetual without beginning or ending. We sometimes forget this important fact particularly when we are dealing with death. The society has shaped our thinking that life begins at conception and deceases at death. We share that life is dash between our date of birth and date of death. The Apostle Paul would state that is the view of the "world".

Our lives began with Father. The prophet Jeremiah shared the word of the Lord, "I knew you before I formed you in the womb of your mother..." The Apostle Paul suggest, "before the creation of the world, God had purposed us..." These statements suggest a prebirth state. Moreover, we know that it does not end, because of the words of the Jesus, "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that who ever believes on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Paul shared in the context of perceived death, "to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord."

The core of our being that we so often forget is spiritual. Spirit comes from God and is made of God and is God. (See the Gospel of John) The very essense of our being is spirit. We are spiritual beings having a spiritual experience. Spirit cannot die! Therefore, we cannot die!

Well, what does happen? All that happens is that our spirit transistions to one level of life to another. That is what Heaven is all about. It is a place of transition where our spirit is in the presence of the Omni present God. The scriptures gives great metaphors for Heaven, all I say is that it is a place where we will operate in spirit with the Father.

One of my best friends, Jim Moore's father, James E. Moore, made his transition saturday night/sunday morning. My heart and prayers are with Jim and his family. I know the pain of the transition of a loved one. My mother made her transition 20 years ago this past month. I do know that it is dificult to let go in the human context, but I do know the joy when we focus on the celebration of life and knowing that Dad (James Moore) is in the presence of the Father. Please pray for the family of James E. Moore, Sr.
