How to Be Happy!

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night" (Psalm 1:1-2).

Blessed is defined as happiness. If we are blessed then we are happy. Happiness is not an elusive concept, but a concept that is rooted in the confidence of a relationship with the Father through Christ.

Imagine that our happiness is not rooted in things, people, or conditions--the foundation is rooted in relationship with God. How so unlike our culture that seeks things instead of God.

David expounds that happy is in God and one who remains centered in terms of the things of God. He does not WALK in the COUNSEL OF THE WICKED--which is to say that the individual who is happy does not rely upon the current world-view but rely upon the counsel of God. What philosophies do you live by? What counsel do you live your life by? This is key!

David further shares the happy individual also does not STAND in the way of MOCKERS or SIT in the Seat of MOCKERS. In essence the happy person does not engage in relationships that would influence him/her to the contrary to the things of God.

Happiness is not an elusive concept. It is rooted within the Lord.
