Ridicule

"But when Sanballat the Horonite , Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. What is this you are doing? they asked. Are you rebelling against the King?" (Nehemiah 2:19).

Mahatma Ghandi shared that they are stages of success, "at first they ignore you; then they laugh at you; then they fight you; then you win." Being a change agent is always a challenge and not everyone will be on board with a desire to "change the world". Ridicule is something that you have to become comfortable with and not take personal. That is why you have to be convinced that God has set you on your course and have given you a vision. This is not for the faint of heart!

Nehemiah was convinced of his mission and vision. It was not just a mandate from the King, it was a mandate from God. His mandate from God was his reason for being and the driving force within his life. How do you handle opposition? How do you handle ridicule? No one that has achieved any measure of success has been exempt from ridicule on some level. It is a part of the process.

I can recall when I launched Destiny. I was amazed at all of the ridicule and attacks that I came under. I would have thought people would have loved the idea of a church in the community, offering the ministries that God had placed in my heart. Such was not the case. I had to fight through all of those barriers and negative spirits and energies and after thirteen years we have established a solid ministry that is continuing to grow.

My friend, know that God is with you and know that "Greater is He that is within you than he that is within the world" (I John 4:4). You don't have to worry about the ridicule!

Father, I am convinced and convicted of the path you
have me on! I will not be moved by ridicule or the
criticism of others.
I will not be moved!
In the Name of Jesus and Through His Power!
Amen! And So It Is!
